Food fraud

An intentionally deceiving action committed by food business operators towards customers, regulators or other stakeholders that consists in providing false information about the quality and/or content of food for economic gain. Such action can involve adding lower quality or substitute ingredients, mislabeling, misrepresenting origin, or other dishonest practices that undermine the safety and authenticity of food.
